[In a very serious, business tone, Abel's answering machine sounds after any attempted calls that aren't responded to right away.]

[Well, he asked the right person. Abel, despite everything, would die for him, so it's not that big of an ask, really.]

I think Fitz has 'disaster magnetism' if most of his stories from home are true. The more eyes on him, the better, just in case.

Even if he doesn't go looking for it, it seems to find him.

Cain has a knife and gun. Restrictions on both but I don't think he'll push it.

He should be good with both, he was more trained for combat than I was.

He and I work well together in crisis, if I can keep eyes on him, you shouldn't have to worry about him at all. I usually see him every day.

Fitz is still angry with me though, so I'm trying to give him space, but if this gets worse, he'll have to get over it, or just stay mad for longer.

I'm on good terms with Fitz. Don't worry about him I'll do what I can for him.

Are you really okay watching over Cain? I know it can be complicated with someone from back home. Tell the truth. I can watch his back if you need space.

[Abel stares down at his comm a moment, the words 'tell the truth' right there and just as irritating as if they'd been said out loud.

All this time with Cain, how he feels about him, none of it is entirely healthy, but what had he done the past three months to try and fix it so it would be better? In his mind, practically nothing at all. Cain needed him now, so that could be put on the backburner. That's just how it was and will be. Needs and wants were pushed aside. He'd be fine.]

[It would take a significant sign that Abel was detrimental to Cain. As it is he's glad for any help he can get.]

No. Just aim for the head on anything that comes at you.

[Abel at least is of the mind that a gun is a lethal weapon and should be used as such. Disabling shots were unnecessarily cruel if he had the option to stun with the other setting.]

I can hear a siren, jumbled transmissions, far off explosions. It sounds like I'm back on the Sleipnir during an alert.

Explosions. The dead. You'll know that sound when you hear it.

[ There is no confusing the sound of the dead walking with any other noise. ]

I think perhaps the fog is focusing on what will disturb the individual, though I might be wrong. I don't know if you would be able to hear it from my side if I switched to audio. If it does, I don't think it's always.

Sometimes floods are individual.

Just be careful. If you see a corpse walking, go for the head.

You know, that isn't exactly known. Thankfully most contact we've had with them is in space. Though they have invaded ships before.

They didn't leave much left to gather any further intel.

Yes. It would be rather terrifying if they could just travel through space fast enough to catch up to anything without one...

They can. Cain and I have taken quite a few down ourselves. Being in a ship helps. Not much can survive getting blown up in space.

Well hey there's some good news, right? We're in space.

Yes, well. I don't have my ship here, and I don't think the Barge has an anti-matter cannon, or any cannons for that matter, unfortunately for us.
